ABOUT

Rebecca Reed lives and works in New York City. She learned the trade of photography working as an assistant and second shooter for several wedding, editorial and commercial photographers in Washington DC and New York. Her portfolio is a unique blend of editorial, documentary and lifestyle photography.

She helps families capture genuine, unforced moments with their children during the varied stages of childhood through documentary “day in the life” sessions, lifestyle sessions and traditional portraits. She ensures their investment in family photos will be an everyday part of their lives by helping them curate heirloom family photo books and prints.

Rebecca also has an affinity for serving artists and arts organizations. She creates behind the scenes images of their process and practices as well as traditional portraits to help them promote themselves and their work. She serves artists, musicians, dancers, actors, photographers, designers, crafters, makers, and more.

Rebecca’s clients describe her style as both natural and elevated and her goal is always to create both honest and artful images that become more valuable over time.

Photographers that inspire her include Mark Shaw, Wendy Ewald, and Helen Levitt. Rebecca is available for select travel assignments throughout the year.
